June 2018 Box

Recycled Sari Bowl

This beautiful bowl comes from Ganesh Himal Trading, an organization that supports women artisans in the village of Sertung, Napal. The families in this village were devastated by an earthquake in April 2015 that left them in a state of severe economic instability. The village has no electricity and very few modern tools, but these amazing women use the resources they do have, which they often have to trek two days through mountains to collect, to create beautiful products from recycled materials.

Room Spray

This scented rooms spray made by survivors through Eleventh Candle Co., an organization that employs women in Columbus, OH and Ethiopia who have been victims of trafficking and addiction. These women are seemingly two worlds apart but suffer very similar devastating circumstances. The organization provides financial and restorative support aimed at helping them transition into productive, healthy lifestyles.

Druzy Necklace

The last item in this month’s box is a trendy druzy necklace that was handmade by our own Anchor of Hope Box artisans – a group of local refugees and survivors of human trafficking. This group meets monthly to learn new crafts and create sustainable incomes for their families. In some cases, this is the only income these families receive. Your continued support allows these families the dignity of work, the support of community, and the enjoyment of knowing their handmade items are loved by people around the country. Despite their difficult backgrounds, this program gives them hope for the future.
